Overview
Pickful supports live streaming. You can go live on Pickful and simultaneously restream to YouTube, X (Twitter), Bilibili, WeChat Channels, Douyin, and more — one stream, distributed across multiple platforms.
1. Prerequisites
1. Install OBS Studio
OBS Studio is a free, open-source streaming application available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Download: https://obsproject.com
- Arch Linux:
sudo pacman -S obs-studio
2. Set Up Camera and Microphone
Make sure a camera and microphone are connected to your computer.
2. Create a Live Stream
- Open Pickful and go to
/live - Click “Start Streaming”
- Fill in the stream details:
- Title: Tell viewers what you’re streaming
- Description: Optional, additional info
- Latency Mode:
- Standard (~20s latency, best quality)
- Reduced (~10–15s latency)
- Low Latency (~5s latency, recommended for interactive streams)
- Click “Create Stream”
Once created, you’ll see a Stream Settings card containing:
-
RTMP URL:
rtmps://global-live.mux.com:443/app - Stream Key: Click the 👁 icon to reveal and copy
3. Configure OBS
1. Set the Stream URL
Open OBS → Settings → Stream:
Field |
Value |
|---|---|
Service |
Custom |
Server |
|
Stream Key |
Paste the key copied from Pickful |
Click OK to save.
2. Add a Video Source
In the OBS Sources panel, click +:
- Video Capture Device → select your camera
- Display Capture → if you want to share your screen
3. Add an Audio Source
In the Sources panel, click + → Audio Input Capture → select your microphone.
After adding, speak into the microphone — you should see the green level meter move in the Audio Mixer at the bottom.
4. Go Live
Click “Start Streaming” in the bottom-right corner of OBS.
Within a few seconds, the Pickful stream page will automatically show a 🔴 LIVE badge and viewers can watch.
5. End the Stream
Click “Stop Streaming” in OBS. The stream ends automatically and the recording is saved.
4. Restreaming (Multi-Platform)
Pickful can forward your stream to multiple platforms simultaneously. You only push to Pickful (Mux) — the system handles distribution automatically.
Your OBS → Push to Pickful
↓ Auto-forwarded to
→ YouTube Live
→ X (Twitter)
→ Bilibili
→ WeChat Channels
→ Douyin
Add a Restream Target
- On the stream detail page, find the “Restream” card

- Click “Add”

5. Important Notes
- Keep your stream key private — anyone with it can push content to your stream
- Max 6 restream targets — additional cost of $0.02/min/target
- Latency to China-based platforms — since the server is overseas, restreaming to Bilibili, WeChat, and Douyin may have extra latency
- Max stream duration is 12 hours — the stream disconnects automatically after that
- Recommended OBS settings: 720p output, 4000 kbps bitrate, 2-second keyframe interval
- After the stream ends, the recording is automatically saved as a VOD
6. FAQ
Q: I have video but no audio?
A: Add an “Audio Input Capture” source in OBS and select the correct microphone.
Q: I clicked Start Streaming but Pickful doesn’t update?
A: Check that OBS shows a “LIVE” status. Verify that the stream URL and key are correct.
Q: Can I stream from a phone?
A: Currently a desktop streaming application like OBS is required. Mobile streaming is not yet supported.
Q: Is there extra latency when restreaming to other platforms?
A: YouTube and X have minimal extra latency (a few seconds). China-based platforms may experience more due to network routing.
Q: Do I have to use OBS?
A: Any RTMP-compatible software works — Streamlabs, Wirecast, etc. — configuration is the same.
